Five Decades of Dedication: Celebrating Larry Kuck’s Lasting Impact on Michigan’s Oil and Gas Industry

Few careers span half a century, especially in an industry as demanding as oil and gas. As Larry Kuck approaches 50 years in the field, his career stands as a testament to hard work, resilience, and a genuine passion for the industry.

Larry began his journey in 1975 after persistently pursuing an opportunity to work in the oil patch. His determination paid off, launching a career that would take him through a variety of roles and companies, where he gained extensive experience in field operations, wireline work, production, and leadership. Each chapter helped build the knowledge and practical expertise that have made him a respected leader throughout the industry.

In 2016, Larry joined Riverside Energy during a period of significant growth following the acquisition of additional assets. His decades of experience proved invaluable as the company expanded its operations. Today, as an Operations Supervisor in the Sturgeon area, he oversees production activities, supports field personnel, and helps ensure operations run safely and efficiently.

One of Larry's greatest strengths has been his ability to adapt. Over nearly five decades, he has witnessed remarkable changes in technology and operations, embracing new tools and processes while drawing on the experience gained throughout his career. Just as important has been his commitment to mentoring others. Larry takes pride in sharing his knowledge with younger employees, believing that supporting the next generation is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Larry also credits Riverside Energy's culture of teamwork and open communication as a highlight of his career. The collaborative environment has allowed him to continue learning while helping others succeed, reinforcing the values that have guided him throughout his time in the industry.

When asked what advice he would give to someone entering the oil and gas industry, Larry's message is simple: work hard, be dependable, and give every job your full effort. It's an approach that has defined his own career and contributed to nearly 50 years of success.
