ABOUT
We deliver energy the right way
Riverside Energy combines decades of operational excellence with a commitment to sustainability. Our strategy is simple: acquire, optimize, and responsibly develop oil and gas assets using advanced science and technology. Backed by 250 dedicated professionals, we deliver reliable energy while protecting the land and communities we serve.
Through Riverside Carbon Solutions, our wholly owned subsidiary, we operate Michigan’s largest carbon capture and storage facility; advancing solutions that shape a cleaner, more sustainable future for the Midwest.

Carbon Capture
-
CCS means Carbon Capture and Storage. It’s a process where carbon dioxide (CO2) is captured from industrial sources and stored deep underground so it doesn’t enter the atmosphere.
-
Storing CO2 underground prevents it from entering the atmosphere, where excess greenhouse gases contribute to climate change. CCS is a critical tool for reducing emissions while supporting energy reliability and industrial operations.
-
CO2 is stored in deep underground rock formations, such as depleted oil and gas reservoirs. These formations have natural spaces (called “pore space”) that safely hold CO2. A layer of impermeable rock above, called a “cap rock,” keeps it sealed in place.
Niagaran Pinnacle Reef formations in Michigan are particularly well suited for CO2 storage. These reefs feature thick, porous rock that holds CO2 securely, capped by dense layers that naturally keep it locked in. Decades of successful natural gas storage in these formations demonstrate their integrity and reliability.
Operations
At Riverside Energy, we are committed to responsible energy development across Indiana and Michigan.
Through safe operations, long-term stewardship, and innovative energy solutions, we work to support the communities where we operate while helping meet the region’s evolving energy needs.
Michigan
Riverside Energy Michigan is the state’s leading natural gas producer, anchored in the Antrim Shale play. We maintain working interests in approximately 7,000 wells and operate 5,600 wells, delivering 85 net MMcf of natural gas daily.
Indiana
Riverside Petroleum Indiana owns and operates 30 natural gas wells in the New Albany Shale of southwest Indiana, producing over 4,000 Mcf per day. These operations are managed by a dedicated field team based in Washington, Indiana.
